Dr. Troy Dixon, Lead Pastor


Pastor Troy has served as the lead Pastor of Normandy Park since 2007. Born and raised on Jacksonville's Westside, he has served churches in the panhandle of Florida and Alabama.  



Pastor Troy has a passion for preaching and teaching the Bible. The goal of his ministry is to see lives transformed by the gospel. He is the author of GO! A Spiritual Pocket Guide for Mission Trips.



He and his wife Susan are the proud parents of Joshua, Jonathan and Gracie. In his down time he loves cycling, cooking BBQ, reading, photography and Florida football.   




Vernel Oberes, Worship Pastor

Vernel has been serving at Normandy Park Baptist Church since the end of 2016. He was born and raised in the Philippines. He moved to the United States after high school. Vernel is a graduate of Columbia International University (South Carolina), and has been serving as a Worship Pastor at various churches for over 25 years.


He and his wife Jaylyn have 2 children, Jazmyn and Joshua. We are blessed to have them and how they use their talents for the Lord.



CHRISTINA CROWDER, Ministry Assistant    

Christina has been serving at Normandy Park since November 2018. Born and raised in the Arlington area of Jacksonville, Christina has made the westside of Jacksonville her home for the last 17 years. Christina also serves as our Senior Adult Director and Embrace Grace facilitator. 


Christina is the proud parent to Mark & daughter-in-love, Cathy, and Danielle, and proud grandmother to Rebecca and Isabella.  She is an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan and loves cats.  Her life verse is Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God.  I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”



PAUL MAHLA, Youth Director

Paul is a native Floridian, born and raised in Jacksonville. He became a born-again Christian after receiving Christ shortly after graduating High School. Paul went on to pursue an education at the University of North Florida and earned his Bachelor of Science in Communications. Paul has been serving as a Youth Pastor since 2015 and joined the ministry of NPBC in the Spring of 2021.

During his ministry, he was called to attend Seminary at Liberty University to continue his spiritual calling. In March of 2020, Paul married his best friend GiGi who also ministers to students at NPBC. Together they have a dog named Buffy and enjoy going to the beach and binge-watching Netflix shows.
